Chapter 31: It Lies Beneath

*Sort of long and I apologize but everything is coming to a head!*

“What the hell was that?” Christina jumped from her bed at the sound of the blast. Sirens wailed in the distance and she turned out the window to take a look. A large deal of fire trucks and police cars had assembled near the quad and around the main entrance to the school. A crowd had gathered nearest they could and she could barely make out a news van doing its best to get front and center of the action.

Thick, black, billowing smoke encompassed the area as a large fire rumbled through the center of the University. Firefighters were doing all they could to control the blaze as police officers and campus security moved to keep the people at bay. “Clear this area!” A policewoman shouted above the roar of the sirens. Flames licked higher and higher up the back wall of the stadium reaching up towards the empty stands and choking out any oxygen around the small rooms.

Chapter 29: Killer Among Us

Jordan, Donovan and Christina sat quietly thinking over everything that was happening and the number of deaths that had occurred within the time span of a few weeks. Nothing was making sense and the animal only seemed to be getting bolder in its attacks. It had made blatant attempts on nearly everyone’s life but Christina felt certain that there was something deeper lying beneath the Animal’s patterns.

Chapter 27: Alone in the Dark

“Hey Lou is that you?” Paige asked above the blaring of the music on her work bench and the clinking of tools in her ears. “Hand me that 6 pointer would ya?” She was in the middle of an oil change on a Wornado Triage and was hurrying so she didn’t miss her movie date with Amber. “Thanks!” Her foot tapped to the beat of the music and she sang along a little, smiling as she popped the drain plug gasket off to allow the used oil to drip into the pan.

Chapter 26: Hell Week

“Alright bitches! The time has come to show everyone what you’re made of! This is the week you have all been waiting for! This is the week that will decide which of you is worthy and which of you will lick the dirt from the winner’s shoes! Now in honor of our fallen sister, Kendra Winslow, I’ve decided that the game we’ll host is one of her favorites The Alpha Sigma Rho Panty Raid.” Rachael stood in front of the pledges with a few other sisters behind her. They all sat listening to her spiel curious what other curves she was planning to through their way; this just sounded way too easy.

Chapter 25: The Chemistry Between Us

**Warning: Attempted rape scene.**

“Chrissy,” Kayne called as he watched her rush off towards her dorm. “Chrissy wait up.” Stopping her just between the dining hall and bookstore he waited until a throng of students filed into the eatery before beginning again. “I heard about what happened with you and Rachael. I just wanted to say I’m sorry things went that far. I’ve tried talking to her but she’s on this power trip that just…I don’t know. I’ve never seen her like this before.”

“You know what she did?” He nodded and sighed in resolve. “That bitch is messing with my reputation and my credibility with the Dean! What is she up to now? It can’t still be because of you! After everything that’s happened why can’t she just let things go?” Another group of errant passersby glanced in their direction and Kayne pulled Christina off to the side to afford more privacy.
